Information Assurance Program
ECPI is a CompTIA Authorized Academy. The Information Assurance Program (IAT) is in a lecture/lab format, using the CompTIA approved Curriculum. Course includes all information necessary to prepare you to take the CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications in compliance with DOD directive 8570.01.
The ECPI IAT program consists of four terms. The program is designed to teach students the skills needed to give the students the knowledge and skills to take the certification exams for A+, Network+, & Security+. This provides them with the opportunity to enter the workforce and/or further their education and training in the computer, networking, and security field. This program is approved for Veterans and Tuition Assistance.
After completion of each section the following certification exams can be taken at an authorized Pearson VUE Test Center or through Pearson VUE’s online testing platform, OnVUE: CompTIA A+ Core Series (two parts), CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+.

A+ Certification
The very latest instruction methods presented by certified instructors will be implemented in this course. The current A+ certification requires passing the two exam below:

- 220-902 A+ Practical Application
Network+ Certification
Network+ preparation is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of computer networks and helps to prepare for the CompTIA Network+ certification examination. Vendor-neutral course provides students with fundamental understanding of computer networks. Topics include:
- Networking Protocols and Devices
- TCPI/IP Architecture
- Internet Addressing
- Network Security
- Troubleshooting
- Security+ Certification
Security+ validates knowledge of:
- Systems Security
- Network Infrastructure
- Access Control

It is an international, vendor-neutral security certification.
IAT Skills and Competencies
Maintenance and Operating Systems
The CompTIA A+ Essentials examination measures necessary competencies for an entry-level IT professional. Successful candidates will have the knowledge required to understand the fundamentals of computer technology, networking, and security, and will have the skills required to identify hardware, peripheral, networking, and security components. Successful candidates will understand the basic functionality of the operating system and basic troubleshooting methodology, practice proper safety procedures, and will effectively interact with customers and peers. This certification meets the requirements for Level I technician as required by DOD directive 8570.01.
Maintenance and Operating Systems II
The CompTIA A+ Practical Application exam measures the necessary competencies for an entry-level IT professional. Successful candidates will have the skills required to install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PC workstations, the Windows OS and SOHO networks. The successful candidate will utilize troubleshooting techniques and tools to effectively and efficiently resolve PC, OS, and network connectivity issues and implement security practices. Job titles in some organizations which are descriptive of the role of this individual may be: Enterprise technician, IT administrator, field service technician, PC or Support technician, etc. This certification meets the requirements for Level I technician as required by DOD directive 8570.01.
Network Fundamentals
CompTIA Network+ provides classroom and laboratory instruction relating to computer networks. Through hands on training, students learn the vendor-independent networking skills and concepts that affect all aspects of networking. Fundamental topics include: Networking Protocols and Devices, TCP/IP Architecture, Internet Addressing, and User Management concepts and procedures. Advanced topics included in the curriculum cover the areas of Data Protection, Network Security, and Network Troubleshooting and Maintenance. This certification meets the requirements for Level I technician as required by DOD directive 8570.01.
Introduction to Security
This training provides students with the knowledge and skills to begin supporting network security within an organization. Students will be able to identify security threats and vulnerabilities, and help respond to and recover from security incidents. This certification meets the requirements for Level I Manager as required by DOD directive 8570.01.
